Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant choice for parents who want a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. The travel system includes an adjustable carrycot that can be folded flat for infants as well as a multi-position forward and rear facing seat for a pushchair.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to see why it's received the highest praise from customers. It's extremely light-weight with the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg. It's also very simple to put together. In fact I was able get the whole thing up and running in just five minutes, which is amazing considering that it also included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

It has a comfortable, wide seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is easy to use. There's plenty of space in the basket too and I am awestruck by the fact that it comes with a zip-up pocket in the handle bar so you can keep your keys and phone safe!

The only slight downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which could be an issue for taller parents. It's covered in a soft, comfortable leather-like material that is easy to clean.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who like to explore and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on forest and field paths, and the front wheel can be swivelled and locked for extra versatility. It also comes with a padded 5-point safety harness and front bar to keep your little one safe throughout your journey, while the parking brake effectively stops the stroller from moving while you are taking a break. The comfy seat is easy to recline to a lying position, and the canopy opens to reveal netting for optimum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 centimeters to accommodate dad's or mom's heights.

The Runner will accompany you on your next adventure, whether it's a quick run, a more strenuous hike, or a long-distance walk. It comes with a lay-flat seat with suspension air wheels for an easy ride. It's their newest and most expensive addition to the budget-friendly stroller line. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat-compatible, so you can use from birth.

The new Pace features some stunning design features, like a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis and stroller trims that truly distinguish it from. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics on the stroller and the car seat are stylish and there is the option of adding an coordinating handle for the cover and bumper bar, too.

The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It can easily be converted to a two-in-one reversible position, which is either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat comes with multiple lie-back positions, softly padded legs rests and an extendable sun canopy with zip-off sections that are concealed with a view-through flap, and a retractable visor.

When folded, the Pace measures 56 33cm x 43cm x 32cm which makes it suitable for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It's also a breeze to fold down, using two buttons on either side of the handlebar that you can click into and pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

I tested it with my two children one of whom is eight weeks old and the other toddler - on rocky pavements along with grassy wooded trails and even cobblestones.

The wheels that are puncture-proof are large - 22cm and 30cm - which means they can handle many different terrains. The wheels have an opening that can be closed or opened to let air in when needed. It's a bit bigger than some pushchairs but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you push it across bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It is also quieter than other pushchairs and I felt at ease with it on busy urban streets. Another benefit is that it has integrated accessory points. This means you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a tray for snacks. The hood can be used to block out rain and wind, however it's not waterproof. It's a single stroller, but you can attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child a bit of legroom. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set-up and it took the same amount of time to transform it into an actual seat.
